Two ferry journeys required. One from Shaldon to Teignmouth and one from Starcross to Exmouth.

Babbacombe to Paignton
Distance: 7 miles Difficulty: Moderate

Day 5:
Paignton to Brixham
Distance: 5.5 miles Difficulty: Moderate
- Day 6:
Brixham to Dartmouth

Ferry crossing from Dartmouth to Kingswear.

Dartmouth to Strete

Crossing Kingsbridge Estuary by ferry.

Salcombe to Hope Cove

Hope Cove to Erme Estuary
Distance: 9.5 miles Difficulty: Easy/Moderate

Cross the River Avon by short ferry journey. This only operates 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00.
Due to a lack of accommodation in near the Erme Estuary, a taxi will collect you from Mothecombe to take you to accommodation nearby.

- Day 12:
Erme Estuary to Wembury
Distance: 10 miles Difficulty: Moderate

Cross the River Yealm by short ferry journey.
Due to a lack of accommodation in Wembury, it may be necessary to accommodate you elsewhere and include transfers to and from the accommodation.

Day 13:
Wembury to Plymouth
Distance: 11 miles Difficulty: Easy/Moderate
- Day 14:
Plymouth to Kingsand/Cawsand
Distance: 6.5 miles Difficulty: Moderate/Easy

A ferry is required between Plymouth and Cremyll.
Due to a lack of accommodation in Kingsand/Cawsand, it may be necessary to accommodate you elsewhere and include transfers to and from the accommodation.

Kingsand/Cawsand to Crafthole

Crafthole to Looe

Helford Passage to Coverack

There are two river crossings today. The first is Helford which can be crossed using the ferry. The second is Gillan Creek which can be crossed on foot, or by using the small ferry that operates at high tide.

Coverack to The Lizard

The Lizard to Mullion

The distance above is based on crossing The Gannel at Fern Pit Cafe, either using the bridge (low tide) or the ferry (high tide / operates May to mid September). There are 2 alternative bridges to take a little further upstream. Penpol Bridge +1 mile or Trenance Bridge +2.5 miles.

This does not include the walk into Bideford. Instead, this makes use of the ferry operating between Appledore and Instow. The ferry operates 2 hours either side of high tide. If the ferry is not operating, then there is a regular bus service from Appledore.
